Toyota has been one of the leading car manufacturers in Australia for more than a decade. However, Toyota Australia have issued a warning to all their customers and the people in general that they have not sent any text messages or emails to them claiming that they have won money or they have won a Toyota car. Bernie O’Connor, Toyota Australia’s  Executive Director of Corporate Services said that Toyota Australia and its related companies do not have any connections with any lotteries that inform the members of the public that they have recently won any Toyota car or won any cash prize whether by SMS or through email messages. He further mentioned that even though the name Toyota appears in the SMS messages or emails they have not send any public messages like these.

He further said that members of the public should not respond to such emails and SMS and not provide any personal information if asked for it as these messages are not send by Toyota even though the emails clearly say that they are from Toyota. He said that as per the information they have received most of the emails are from Toyota Flood Relief Fund, Toyota Fortune Lotto Draw, Toyota Car International Promotion Program and Toyota International Lotto.

Addressing the press and the public O’Connor clearly mentioned that none of the external parties related to Toyota have done this and therefore people should simply avoid responding to such SMSes and emails as this is a scam as there is no lottery prize announced by Toyota. Toyota has strictly warned all the customers and members of the public to delete such emails and not to give away any personal information as it could be sent by spammers to retrieve public information for their use. Toyota Australia has clearly confirmed that these are bogus offers and has nothing to do with Japanese car makers.
