Toyota lovers in Australia have another reason to rejoice. The Japanese car maker after giving Australian motorists advanced Christmas gift by improving value of key models and lowering interest rate finance offers is set to celebrate yet another significant achievement. The company’s premium off-roader Toyota Landcruiser has passed 7,50,000 sales down under during the 60th anniversary of the vehicle since the first model was sold way back in 1951.

Expressing his thought on this significant achievement David Buttner, senior executive director of sales and marketing of Toyota Australia said that LandCruiser played a vital role in strengthening the company’s development in the country along with regional and remote areas where LandCruiser remains favorite among buyers since it has performed well in difficult conditions.

Mr Buttner also added that buyers will have more options to choose from next March as the company will expand the range of LandCruiser and will come out with a vehicle loaded with value added features which will deliver ultimate driving pleasure to consumers.

Among the number of LandCruisers sold in the country, 280,000 belong to the 200 series, 310,000 “military” versions and and 1,60,000 LandCruiser Prado which was launched in 1996. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the vehicle, the company is coming out with a special edition anniversary model based on LandCruiser 200 Series GXL. However, this special edition will provide extra equipment worth $5,000.

The special edition of the vehicle will be available for a limited time period and will include features such as high quality steering wheel, shift lever, Bluetooth attuned touch screen satellite navigation system along with badges marking the 60th anniversary of the vehicle. The new version will be equipped with Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) and the price of the petrol model starts at $79,990. New LandCruisers and the special edition of the vehicle are covered by the Toyota Service Advantage.
