The popular HiAce of Toyota gets a boost in power in its turbo engine by 25% which rises up to 100kW now. The company also announced that the active safety on the vehicle has been increased providing for a safer drive.
The company is said to have recalibrated HiAce 1KD-FTV turbo-diesel engine in order to deliver added 20kW of power & 14Nm of torque. Adding to the above changes the fuel economy & emission levels have also been improved up by around 7%. The new HiAce models come with ABS & skid brakes in the standard equipments now. As a measure of upgrading the HiAce range it has a improved turbo-diesel engine clubbed with ABS as standard equipments. The other upgraded features are Long Wheelbase Computer bus & Super-Long Wheelbase.
This new upgrade comes after the company crossed the sales of a quarter million marks for this variant. Thie final drive ratio is 3.727:1 which matches the superseded ratio of 3.909:1 ratio which makes full use of the increased torque. HiAce turbo-diesel has 100kW power at 3400rpm & 300Nm of torque ranging from 1200-2400rpm.
There has been an improvement of about 7% in the fuel economy and the emissions levels. There has been an increase to 8.0litres/100km from 8.6litres/100km for the manual model of the the LWB turbo-diesel on ADR 81/02* combined cycle & 210g/km emissions from 225g/km.
Besides the upgrades in the technical specifications it also gets a facelift in the exteriors and the interiors. It has the new front mask along with a revised headlamp, front bumper design and a radiator grill. When observed inside the car the HiAce has an improved instrument meter dial designing & a revised shift-lever bezel design in the automatic transmission model.
The trim colours of the interiors changes from the old grey to a darker grey now. A new option of the HiAce Commuter bus has on offer the choice of the Auto Door closer in side sliding doors.
Overall the new upgrade to the car is commendable and promises to offer a whole new performance level to its customers.
