The Toyota Kluger vehicles that have been produced between May 2003 and November 2005 have been recalled by Toyota Australia as measure of global recall. An estimated figure reveals that approximately the number of Toyota Kluger vehicles  in Australia are 17582.

Condition:

The brake fluids used as lubricants in certain brake components contains polymers. A part of rubber seal which is at the back end of the break master cylinder turns dry or curls when the vehicle gets brake fluid which doesn’t contain polymers. These small amounts of brake fluid leaking out slowly from brake master cylinder cup are resulting in illuminating the brake warning light.

Ground situation:

Around 27 such cases have been reported in the Australia region for the Toyota Kluger Vehicles. Although incidents were reported no injuries related to these incidents have been reported.

Steps taken:

Toyota Australia will be contacting the affected owners through mail and advising them to take an appointment with the nearest Toyota Dealer. The recall activity initiated by Toyota would be conducted without any charge. As a preventive action this safety recall has been done. At the moment owners can drive their vehicles till its brake warning light does not get illuminated. If it gets illuminated then brake master cylinder fluid level needs to be checked and refilled. After which the vehicles should be presented for inspection at the service stations.
