For most families, auto insurance can be a significant part of their yearly budget. Insurance rates for young drivers are notoriously more expensive than they are for experienced drivers; especially for teenagers and those below 25 years of age.  It does seem unfair as you’re just starting to drive, and you don’t have any experience, but statistics reveal that teens are involved in more accidents than drivers of any other age group.  However, just because a higher rate is expected, doesn’t mean you and your parents can’t find ways to combat them.
