Porsche is one of the finest car manufacturers in the world and now the company has decided to come up with their new car which will be launched in the SUV segment. The company has now made an official announcement that the new car that they will be designing will be called Macan. The company also revealed that the name is derived from Indonesian word for tiger and since the car is an off-car road it will have all the power, agility, dynamics and suppleness that is required in an off-car road.
Bernhard Maier, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG said that the new car combines all the sporty characteristics that has been merged with the SUV features and extra features that stands out for Porsche. He also said that the name sounds good in different languages and dialects and it has positive aspect to it. The company also said that this will be the fifth Porsche model that is in the line and they are hoping that they will create something by 2018.
Porsche also revealed that they would love to expand their portfolio and therefore they are going for SUV segment as they have been making sports car till now. The company is confident that like Cayenne, Macan will receive good positive response from the consumers and they will begin the production in Leipzig in 2013. The company said that they are investing in various other plants at the same time to improve the production of cars in the future.
