Porsche has always been involved in making performance oriented cars and this time they decided to mix some of their latest and best technology with another that is well known for its looks. The Porsche 918 RSR is simply among the premium sports cars available in the world. The two seater car has an engine of 911 GT3 R hybrid and the design of 918 Spyder and together the combination has really received a lot of applause from car critics.
Porsche is already aware that their 911 GT3 R car has a very high flywheel accumulator and that had received a lot of attention from the people at the Nuerburgring Nordscheleife circuit during American Le Mans Series races in Atlanta, United States and even at the ILMC in China. The car had performed so well that people realized that there was something really massive under the hood and that it would certainly surpass all the competitors. Now Porsche has tried to put the same technology in Porsche 918 which is a mid-engine coupe and sports car as well. The philosophy behind this car is Form Follows Function and Porsche designers and engineers have focused on providing better functions to the car. The 918 RSR has muscular wheel arches, dynamic air intakes and pulpit like cockpit for the driver. The car has been given new liquid metal chrome blue color with typical orange color on brake calipers. The longitudinal strip on the outside gives it a much better look.
Inside the hood is a V8 engine that can produce 563 horsepower at 10,300 rpm. There are two electric motors on the front two wheels which can amplify the speed and produce in all 767 horsepower. The same electric motors provide torque vectoring with variable torque distribution on the front axles. The car has 19 inches wheels with central locking system.
Porsche has decided to change the interiors for 918 RSR and therefore it has figure hugging bucket seat for the driver. The cockpit is compact with rocket switches and the flywheel accumulator is positioned right on the console.
