2012 Buick LaCrosse

With fuel economy becoming a important parameter for consumers to choose their vehicles, here comes 2012 Buick LaCrosse, a vehicle integrated with eAssist technology which will increase the fuel economy of the vehicle by 25%. The technology will use electric motor generator of 15 KW and lithium ion battery of 115 V to increase the fuel economy of 2012 LaCrosse which will hit roads from the summers of 2011.

In this context, John Schwegman, vice president of Buick marketing said that 2012 Buick LaCrosse is a perfect choice for those consumers who want improved fuel efficiency and performance in a luxury car. He further added that 2012 Buick LaCrosse will come at a competitive price point as compared to other vehicles having similar technologies.

During acceleration the technology will provide power assistance and at the same time will help in automatic shutting down of engine when the car is stopped, thereby saving fuel. The system will also help the engine to reduce supply of fuel when the vehicle is decelerated.

It is to be noted 2012 Buick LaCrosse will also feature 2.4 litre Ecotech four cylinder direct injection engine and improved tires which will enhance the overall performance of the vehicle. The manufacturers have also tried to enhance the aero dynamics of the vehicle by providing shutters in the lower grill which close at quickly to push greater amount of air over the car.

Commenting on the vehicle and its technology Daryl Wilson, LaCrosse lead development engineer said that every care has been taken that there is no compromise on the performance of driving, shift quality etc of the vehicle. Though it is anticipated the vehicle will cost somewhere around US$ 30,000, no official confirmation have been made as such. 2012 Buick LaCrosse will replace the present four-cylinder, non hybrid version of the vehicle.
