Honda is certainly one of the only OEM in the United States that have been selling dedicated CNG powered light duty vehicles. As per the latest information and announcement from Honda, all the California drivers who have been using Honda Civic GX and all new Honda Civic Natural Gas will continue to have access to California’s High Occupancy Vehicle highway lane till January 2015. Honda has been making various light duty vehicles which are environmentally friendly and they allow drivers to get the same kind of speed that they get on conventional cars. Both these Honda Civic cars are considered as Inherently Low Emission Vehicle also known as ILEV.
Elmer Hardy, Senior Manager of Alternative Fuel Marketing at American Honda Motor Co said that Honda Civic GX drivers have always enjoyed the benefits of driving compressed natural gas vehicle. They have not only enjoyed it by saving time during their commute, but also saved a lot of money by paying lower fuel prices. On the other hand, Honda Civic GX drivers also get the liberty to reduce CO2 footprint which is a great thing. He further said that with new models coming out in the market more drivers will have the opportunity to make use of these environmentally friendly features.
The all new 2012 Honda Civic Natural Gas model will be launched with a lot of new features that are incorporated by Honda. The car has new intelligent Multi Information Display which provides information to driver on 5 inch color LCD display. The car will also have intelligent steering controls for better driving experience. The car will also have Bluetooth HandsFreeLink which drivers can use with compatible mobile phones and USB audio interface with compatible audio players. The all new 2012 Honda Civic Natural Gas will have fuel economy of 27 mpg in city, 38 on highway and 31 combined which is 12.5 % better than the 2011 model.
