Every company wants to make sure their annual targets on time so that they can celebrate, but for General Motors India the time to celebrate has come early that what they had anticipated. This could be one of the rare achievements for any automobile company in India where the company has been able to complete and achieve the annual target in just 11 months. On November 27th, 2010 General Motors India completed and crossed the 1 lakh unit target that they had set in the beginning of the year. This is for the first time that company has been able to cross the annual target since its inception in Indian market.
The year 2010 has been phenomenal for General Motors India as their annual growth went up to 63% which is way to high compare to the annual sales figure they had last year. For the year 2009, General Motors India had only sold 61, 321 units, but this time they have managed to cross the one lakh benchmark with still one month to go to complete their annual record. As per the information provided by the top management of General Motors India the achievement has been possible because of the increasing demand of their top cars Chevrolet Cruze and Beat which are doing great in Indian market.
Both the cars are designed to provide comfort and fuel efficiency to the customers apart from the world class design and performance. The top management also claimed that Chevrolet Spark has also been getting good response from the buyers and that would trigger their already impressive annual record in this closing month.
Talking to the press and the people present at the event, Mr. P. Balendran, Vice President, General Motors India said that General Motors have completed 14 years in the Indian market but they would certainly celebrate this milestone event which was possible because of the tremendous response that they have received from their valued customers. He also stated that the company has inaugurated a new LNG facility at Halol so that they can increase their supplies to meet the demands of the Indian market.
