Fly With Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport – The Most Expensive Car In The World!

For most people a $30,000 car is out of reach, while others don’t think twice about spending three or four times more on a ride. These types of investments require full car insurance coverage to ensure the longevity of the vehicle.” But even those enthusiasts may not be interested in signing the checks when faced with the price tag that the glamorous Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 Super Sport comes with.  This is the most expensive car in the world as of 2011, and is obviously bought by people who don’t flicker an eyelid in any economy.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport

So many super cars come and go, all claiming to be the fastest.  But even five years after the original version came out; Bugatti Veyron remains the most powerful and the fastest car in the world today, and not just the most expensive car.  It defines luxury and of course a fat bank account. I can only imagine, but I’m sure nothing can beat the pleasure of cruising around in the legendary 1,200 horsepower Super Car, the Bugatti Veyron.

Here’s what Georg Kacher, one of the test drivers had to say, “Pushing a Veryon Super Sport to the limit of adhesion can be an almost surreal experience. You feel like the pilot of an alien craft morphing video game fantasy with rural Andalucian reality. Sometimes, the speed differential is so crass that you wish for two more wings to make this thing fly properly.”

Newswire reported that the first Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport has reached “Symbolic Motors” in San Diego, United States, on March 20, 2011.  The person who bought the car managed to get hold of the special (Guinness) World record edition, which is a limited edition for the first five units, and is priced at $2.7 million.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Costs $2,600,000 and Reaches Speeds of 258 mph

Even car lovers find it difficult to pinpoint the raison d’etre of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, given the ridiculous price and speed of 431 km/h (268 mph) it can reach. Yes, the new Super Sport Version claimed the title as the fastest road-legal once again, by reaching the Guinness World of Records-certified top speed of 431.07 km/h (267.85 mph).  This is the world record edition that was shipped to the United States.  But the cars shipped to buyers are restricted to 415 km/h (258 mph).

Designed and Developed by the Volkswagen Group

All the designing and development was done by the German Volkswagen Group and production was by Bugatti Automobiles SAS.  The car is given the name of the French racing driver, Pierre Veyron, who raced for the original Bugatti Company in 1939, and won the 24 hours of Le Mans.

What Do You Get For All That Money?

For one thing, the design of the super car is very impressive. There are a lot of changes made in the Super Sport when compared to the Standard Version of the car.  Powered by a 16-cylinder engine delivering a total horse power of 1200, Bugatti Veyron, the most expensive car in the world today, could have given buyers 268 mph, if Bugatti hadn’t electronically limited the speed to 258 mph to protect the tires.  The standard version can reach 254 mph.
The transmission of this four-wheel drive is an automatic, computer controlled direct shift gearbox, with seven gears, and a shift time of less than 150 milliseconds.  The Veyron can be driven in both the fully-automatic mode and the semi-automatic mode. Everything in this car is an improvement over the standard version, but this one weighs less by approx 50 kg, and this is said to be due to the new lightweight wheels.

Replacement Parts Match the Price of the Veyron

If you want to replace the transmission, it “only” costs over $120,000.  The top speed Veyron is capable of, is achieved with the Michelin PAX run flat tires, which are said to cost about $25,000/set.  It does not end there, if these tires need to be removed from the rims, it will cost another $70,000, as this is only done in France.

With the price of gas going up every time someone sneezes, it’s natural to wonder about the gas consumption of the most expensive car. But then the privileged owners who could afford to spend an insane amount buying one of the 30 units (that’s the limit,) aren’t going to worry too much about gas prices.  BTW, this car is already sold out!

  1. Lovely car, but too much of a cop magnet for me. $70K to take the tires off the rims? No thanks.

  2. A 1957 Chevy convertible, same color, same color interior would turn more heads than that Bugatti Veyron. Pure fact!

    Well, Stan…I prefer a ’63 split-window ‘vette, but I get your drift.
