There’s a particularly funny Nissan commercial for the 2013 Nissan Sentra that is worth going over. It has a theme of 70s dating advice – with opening 70s music (with flanged guitars, horn music, prominent bass, and so on) and the words: “Date better with Sentra” being printed out on the screen. The scene begins – a man and his buddy are sitting at a bar, sunny tropical vacation music playing in the background. The man looks over and sees a good looking woman sitting at the bar at right angles to him. They begin to make eyes at each other. The man talks nervously to his friend for a moment and then gets up and begins to move in the woman’s direction.

Nissan is a global leader in zero-emission vehicles and there is good news for all those U.S. LEAF customers who want to replace the original lithium-ion battery pack in the vehicle. The program will commence in the first half of 2014. The Nissan standard battery warranty includes 60,000 mile coverage, five-year warranty and 8 years/100,000 miles against defects. This is enough to give confidence to the electric vehicle owners. Although the Nissan’s director, Erik Gottfried feels there would never be any need for any battery replacement, the program only reinforces the commitment from Nissan to take care of its expanding community of LEAF drivers.
