The Cadillac CTS has been named the Motor Trend Car of the Year. In so doing it beat out the Mazda 3 and Chevy Corvette Stingray. This is the second time that an edition of this car has won these honors, having won it in 2008 as well. In order to claim this top spot again, the car had to beat 21 other vehicles considered for the prize by the magazine, including the BMW 5 and the Mercedez Benz E-Class. Both of the latter failed to make the final 3.
Cadillac’s third generation CTS midsize luxury sedan shares its base with the firm’s entry-level ATS, which now guarantees a sportier and more agile feel to the car. The CTS increases in size a bit but most importantly, it’s roomier for the occupants. These improvements were important to compete with best mid-size luxury sedans like the A6, 5 Series and E-Class. The 2014 Cadillac CTS is fitted with an all-new twin-turbo V6 engine giving 420 horsepower bolted to eight-speed automatic transmission. The buyer will love to drive this car due to a great deal of suspension adjustments and improvements.

Cadillac has always tried to improve their vehicles and now Cadillac has made an announcement that their three new Cadillac models including ATS sport sedan will have an advanced safety feature that will stop the vehicle in low speed conditions to avoid crashes. The company said that they have come up with better feature called Front and Rear Automatic Braking which works like a virtual bumper in the car. The system works when the driver fails to see another vehicle or object in front of the vehicle. Cadillac announced that this new feature is a part of the new optional Driver Assist Package.

The company said that they have taken both the cars for testing Cadillac’s new Driver Awareness and Driver Assist which would allow the car to maintain safe distance even in the stop and go traffic. General Motors engineers decided to go for the most popular Brooklyn Bridge because it has an intricate metal design and has lot of traffic volume that will allow the engineers to handle the test in the best possible way.

Now, Cadillac has made an announcement that they have started with the production of the much awaited Cadillac ATS 2013 at the Lansing Grand River assembly plant in Michigan and the car will be out in the dealerships by August 2012. Cadillac said that 2013 Cadillac ATS will be a great luxury compact sports sedan that will appeal to many buyers around the world and especially in the United States.
