The 2011 Design Award by Federal Republic of Germany for the Silver prize went to BMW 5 Series Sedan. This award is presented annually by German Design Council. On 11th February 2011 in a public ceremony at Frankfurt the Design Award by Federal Republic of Germany which has been sponsored by Federal Ministry of Economics & Technology will be presented. This presentation is a part of an opening event of the Ambiente one of the world’s biggest trade fairs in consumer trades.
The Design Award by Federal Republic of Germany was launched in the year 1969 and has been conferring every year an outstanding international achievement in categories of product & communication design. It also honours personalities from the design world and an up coming young talent with a prize. The winners get chosen by the independent jury which consists of 10 members who are representatives of the industry, design, academia, and media. All the above representatives get appointed by Federal Ministry of Economics & Technology.
At the Design Award by Federal Republic of Germany, BMW Group Design for its unique quality and design has been recognised many times. Also this award is not for first one to be bagged by new BMW 5 Series Sedan this year. In 2010 the exceptional design has been catching all attention and jury of internationally renowned red dot awards have been easily persuaded.
