The year 2010 was really a memorable one for General Motors as they were able to beat all their sales and marketing targets. However, they not only met their targets, but achieved far better than what they had achieved in the year 2009. Recently, General Motors announced that they had delivered 8,389,769 vehicles across the globe in the year 2010 which means that they were able to deliver 12.2% more from the number of vehicles they had delivered in the year 2009. As per their reports, General Motors were only able to deliver 7,477,178 vehicles in the year 2009.

General Motors have always dominated different global markets and they have strong hold in countries like United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, China, Germany, Canada and Italy. However, in the year 2010, General Motors got a good response in China and United States.

In China, General Motors got the maximum response and they were able to deliver 2,351,610 vehicles in the year 2010 as compare to the year 2009 where they were only able to deliver 1,826,475 vehicles. The percentage of change here was around 28% and General Motors were on the second position in China based on the number of vehicles sold. In United States General Motors took the number one spot and were able to deliver 2,215,227 vehicles in the year 2010 and went up by 6.3% compare to their 2009 records.

General Motors also received good response in various other countries like Germany, Russia, Mexico and Uzbekistan where the company managed to get double digit figures in the year 2010. Chevrolet was among the top brands as they had 4,271,189 vehicles delivered in the year 2010 as compared to previous year where they were only able to deliver 3,517,412 vehicles. Opel/Vauxhall and Wuling took the second and third position respectively on the global charts.
