The 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera was officially previewed recently to much fanfare. The Type 991.2 mode was recently tested at Nurburgring and was seen to have a smaller turbocharged engine. Specifically a flat-six 3.0L engine is being used instead of the larger 3.4 and 3.8L models used in the past.
Still, the new 911 Carrera will have 370 hp, an increase over the 350 hp that the current model uses. The Carrera S will also use a 420 hp engine instead of the standard 400 hp model.
The smaller engine will keep the Porsche from using too much fuel. Also, the top speed will be the same while the 0-60 time will be improved by about one tenth of a second. It takes close to four seconds for the car to get there.
